The government implemented the Movement Control Order (MCO) last year starting March 18, 2020 nationwide and this situation continues to this day. This control order was made under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 and the Police Act 1967. So far, Malaysia has experienced three phases of movement control, namely Conditional MCO (CMCO) and Recovery MCO (RMCO).
In this regard, to help retail industry players boost retail sector activities and restore the confidence of buyers affected by the implementation of this MCO, the Ministry has drafted the Program Jualan Malaysia (PJM) 2021 which focuses on sales with the concept of "Jualan Malaysia Sale".
i. Stimulate and revive the activities of affected domestic retail sector during the MCO period;
ii. Restore the confidence of buyers and consumers to go out shopping and increase household spending affected by the implementation of MCO; and
iii. To promote the use of MySales Tracker online application developed by KPDNHEP to the industry and consumers to facilitate access to information related to cheap sales activities that are and will be implemented throughout the country.
