The Food Sampling Program is an initiative of the Ministry in assisting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME’s) entrepreneurs/ companies in promoting existing MSME’s products in the market especially in the retail chain (hypermarket) in Malaysia.
The objectives of the program implementation are as follows:
- Enhance the competitiveness of MSME’s products to continue to gain consumer response and to be able to compete with foreign products;
- Enhance the skills of MSME’s entrepreneurs in product management and development for a larger capacity market;
- Establishing partnerships between supermarkets and MSME’s entrepreneurs to expand marketing
and business opportunities; - Introduce and promote MSME’s products and encourage the purchase and use of such products
and - Encourage entrepreneurs to carry out food sampling activities on a regular and periodic basis.
Terms of Participation
- Open to all MSME’s entrepreneurs and companies in Malaysia registered with KPDN
and products are already in the retail market in Malaysia; - Entrepreneurs are responsible for ensuring stock is sufficient at each selected food
sampling location; - It is compulsory for entrepreneurs to maintain the existing sampling activities. Inspections will
be carried out with the relevant supermarkets; and - The product is required to obtain the Made in Malaysia Logo Marking approval.
